Description:  Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Indianapolis, Indiana, on 10 May 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9902, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8573" during September of 1916 and renumbered "9902" in 1953.

Description:  FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 19 April 1948. Photo Caption: "Two K4s and a T1 take the 'Metropolitan' up to Gallitzin Summit near the Horseshoe Curve. April, 1948." In the lead is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #612, a K-4SA (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata as a K-4S during April of 1917, later equipped with a front-end throttle and reclassified as a K-4SA, and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (22-15).

Photo Caption: "Double 2-10-0 engines get a run on heavy-duty freight heading for the Horseshoe. July 4, 1950." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4424, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during June of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1944, and retired in January of 1953 after 30 years of faithful service. Photo taken near the Passenger Station, across the tracks from some of the 12th Street Car Shops visible in the background. Wave to the Engineman! Description:  FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 24 October 1949. Photo Caption: "Forty-two car freight overtaking long freight on outer track. The New Haven 2-6-0 is headed for the Johnstown Mills. Oct. 24, 1949." Placed just three cars ahead of a pair of Pennsylvania Railroad Class "I" (2-10-0) "Decapod" tail-end pushers is New Haven Railroad engine #251, a 2-6-0 "Mogul" on its way to be scrapped. This photo comes from a slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (22-41).
