Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by George Menge that was taken in Orangeville, Maryland, in November of 1962. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5962, a BS-6A switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1948 and rated at 660 horsepower. Partially visible at the right is PRR engine #5883, an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. The road number of the "NB" Class cabin car is not recorded. Here is page four of a six-page article by William D. Volkmer entitled "The Pennsy At Northumberland: 1964-1968." It was published originally in the January 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 69. Top Photo Caption: "Northumberland's roundhouse became a museum of sorts in the 1960s for a variety of preserved PRR steam power. In repose in January 1966 are a pair of 2-8-0s, H10s 7688 and H6b 2846, and E6s 4-4-2 460." Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9227, a BS-6A switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in January of 1949, rated at 660 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965 after just 16 years of revenue service. Along with several other well-worn diesels, it's been marshalled for movement to the recycling center. The two-track signal bridge at the right spans the mainline passenger tracks at this point. In the background, scads of derelict freight cars occupy the old Eastbound Receiving Yard.
