Description:  Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, on 11 April 1968. Photo Caption: "DS 4-4-1000, Pennsylvania No. 7952. Camden, N.J. April 11, 1967." Penn Central #7952 is a DS 4-4-1000 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as Pennsylvania Railroad number "5552" in February of 1950, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and renumbered "7952" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Baldwins in Action ~ On North-Eastern Railroads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (892-13).

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Penn Central Railroad engine #7967, a DS 4-4-1000 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "5569" in January of 1950, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and renumbered "7979" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. Partially visible on the right is PC engine #9466, an S1 built by the American Locomotive Company for the PRR as number "5666"in June of 1950, rated at 660 horsepower, and renumbered "9666" in preparation for the merger. The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded.
