Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly. Shown here (L to R) is Penn Central Railroad engine #4442 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are E44 (C-C) electrics built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad and rated at 4,400 horsepower each. #4442 was constructed in July of 1962. Note the orange and white PC "worms"! The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-13). |
