Title:  PRR 3635, L-1S, c. 1949
Description:  Marianchuk. Here is an original photo by Jack Bounds that was taken near Darby, Pennsylvania, c. 1949. Caption On Reverse: "Note Lines West tender on second L-1s." Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3635 and another locomotive whose road number is not recorded. #3635 is an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during April of 1916 and retired in November of 1954 after 38 years of faithful service. In this context, they're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train in electrified territory. Note the trainphone apparatus on both tender decks.
