Description:
Meadows. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine Ready Tracks at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, c. 1953. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here is PRR engine #5772-B, a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in August of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963 after 15 years of faithful service. Note the unidentified steam locomotive pictured at the far right. ("Stoneborobranch"; #16 of 31)
