Description:  Here is a photo which first appeared in an article by Philip W. Klaus, Jr., entitled "The Newtown Square Branch." It was published in the Winter 1986-1987 issue of "The High Line" magazine, page 9. Partial & Revised Caption: "H-9s, No. 553, waiting with double-headed H-10, No. 8259, and H-9 engine [#3097] along with circus train. Engines will be backing circus train onto Cardington Branch. Photo by Don Kehl; June 10, 1949." All three locomotives are (2-8-0) "Consolidateds." #553 is an H-9S built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1913 and retired in April of 1951. #8259 is an H-10S built by the American Locomotive Company during 1916 and retired in February of 1959. #3097 is an H-9S "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during 1910, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S in June of 1917, and retired in December of 1954.
