Title:
PRR "Mass-Production Ten-Wheeler," Page 22, 1973
Description:
Here is page three of a nine-page cover article by Bert Pennypacker entitled "The Mass-Production Ten-Wheeler." It was published originally in the October 1973 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 22. Photo Caption: "Long Island owned 31 G-5s Ten-Wheelers, Nos. 20-50, and used them on virtually all nonelectrified routes. On November 18, 1947, G-5s No. 32 nears her destination of Ronkonkoma with a mainline local. Sisters 35 and 39 survive as display exhibits." Photo by C.V. Parkinson. Shown here is Long Island Railroad engine #32, a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata in September of 1928. Notable here is a "G5s Construction Record."
