Here is page 14 of a 22-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Modern Power For Today's Trains." It was issued originally during July of 1949. Partial Caption: "Now largely replaced in main line service by newer Diesel-electric and steam locomotives, it continues to serve on secondary trains and in branch line service." Shown here is PRR engine #3755, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1920 and retired in October of 1958 after 38 years of service.

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3755, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1920 and retired in October of 1958 after 38 years of faithful service. Who said Pennsy "Pacifics" never hauled freight? The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. ("Stoneborobranch"; #4 of 56)
