Title:
PRR 2548, GF-25, 1966
Description:
Winter Day. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2548 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2548 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train past the Altoona Passenger Station on their way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Partially visible in the background is the 12th Street Footbridge. Wave to the Engineman!
