Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Mayer Pearlman that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, perhaps in 1957. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania Baldwin-built diesel-electric No. 5770 and Jersey Central FM Trainmaster diesel-electric No. 2412 at South Amboy, N.J." PRR engine #5770 is a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in June of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in June of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of (R to L) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5770 and a passenger "Shark" B-unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5770 was constructed in June of 1948 and retired in June of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |
