PRR 8840, AS-16MS, 1960
Title:  PRR 8840, AS-16MS, 1960
Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Kiskiminetas Junction, Pennsylvania, on 16 October 1960. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8840 and two more "AS" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. #8840 is an AS-16MS built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Looks to me like they're on a railfan excursion that's paused for a late-afternoon photo op.
