PRR "McKee's Gap," c. 1915
Title:  PRR "McKee's Gap," c. 1915
Description:  iLocations. Here is a postal card image entitled "Mountain Pass below Roaring Spring, Pa." I believe the locals call this "McKee's Gap." Two items are of interest here. First, the Pennsylvania Railroad's line between Roaring Spring (to the left) and Hollidaysburg (to the right) is sort of visible near the base of the hill at the left. And second, the winding stream in the center of the valley is part of the most-westerly reaches of the Juniata River. The artist's name and the exact date are not recorded.

PRR "Queen, Pa.," c. 1915
Title:  PRR "Queen, Pa.," c. 1915
Description:  iLocations. Here is a postal card image that could be entitled "P.R.R. Depot, Queen, Pa." The track to the photographer's rear leads to Cumberland, Maryland, while that to his front leads to Hollidaysburg. This is the whistle stop where Isaac M. Burket (my maternal grandfather) boarded the train for Altoona in 1900 to begin his 50-year career as a fireman and engineman with the Pennsylvania Railroad. It's also the place where my Mother and her "citified" family of origin used when visiting their relatives in "The Country." The photographer's name, the steam locomotive's road number, and the exact date are not recorded.
