Album Info:Here is a three-page article by Mr. Raymond P. Delano, Jr., entitled "How Half A Locomotive Ran Away." It was published originally in the Winter 2003 issue of "Keystone" magazine, pages 52-54. The "Keystone" is published by the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society. Publication Office: Post Office Box 712; Altoona, Pennsylvania 16603-0712. "The T-1 tests explored the speed range from 38 to 100 miles per hour, with cut-offs from 10 to 50%. Each run lasted for an hour or two at a fixed cut-off, constant speed, and a wide open throttle." (Page 54) This article also includes specifics on the Altoona Test Plant's dynamometer components and how they functioned.
