By:
Thomas C. Ayers
Dates:
12/21/2003 - 12/21/2003
Album Info:
Here is a three-page article by Mr. Raymond P. Delano, Jr., entitled "How Half A Locomotive Ran Away." It was published originally in the Winter 2003 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, pages 52-54. "The T1 tests explored the speed range from 38 to 100 miles per hour, with cut-offs from 10 to 50%. Each run lasted for an hour or two at a fixed cut-off, constant speed, and a wide open throttle." (Page 54) This article also includes specifics on the Altoona Test Plant's dynamometer components and how they actually functioned.
